Industrial Designer

Job description

To speed up the public adoption of hyperloop, it is crucial to design the product such that it addresses the needs of the various stakeholders, and to make the product as tangible as possible. Until it is realized, the only way to see it, understand it and buy into it, is to experience it through a range of virtual and physical materials. The clear and engaging visualization and demonstration is key to achieving the understanding and adoption of the public and private stakeholders, this is where you will play a critical role.

As Industrial Designer, you conceptualize, engineer, visualize, prototype, and test Hardt Hyperloop systems and subsystems. You work with stakeholders to retrieve product requirements and turn them into concepts to be prototyped and tested with those stakeholders, and to use them in communications externally. You create and manage the development of concepts, digital models, mockups, and prototypes. This way you ensure that vague stakeholder requirements and ideas/functions are effectively translated into tangible, functional concept solutions. This can be by means of digital or physical means with different levels of maturity depending on the project. The materials are key to strengthening Hardt’s service/product offering. The first project you will focus on is logistics and automation of hyperloop.

As Industrial Designer your main tasks and responsibilities are:

  • Design, model, and test prototypes
  • Conduct research and retrieve stakeholder requirements
  • Create design proposals and establish design briefs
  • Create concepts, performance, and production criteria
  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) to design concepts
  • Produce final drawings and specifications
  • Manage production of virtual prototypes
  • Manage production process of physical prototypes
  • Plan marketing initiatives for product demonstration

We are a strong team of highly driven and enthusiastic people from all over the world. People who get stuff done, people who can create, who have a passion for challenges and love to explore. Hardt seeks achievers; leaders and visionaries who want to join our team and make Hardt Hyperloop a global success story.

Hardt is a European technology company that specializes in hyperloop. We envision a world where you can go and be with everyone and everything you care about. A world where distance does not matter.

Hyperloop is the new mode of transportation for large volumes of passengers and cargo. In the hyperloop, vehicles travel autonomously through a network of low-pressure tubes. The hyperloop network connects cities, countries, and even continents in short periods of time.

How do you see the future of travel? We offer you to be among the first to have a say. Here, if one of us has an idea and a way to prove it, you will have the grounds to do it. We continually challenge each other to think unrestrainedly. You will have the chance to make a real impact on society. Above all, you will also have the best fun with us at our beautiful office and test facility locations in Rotterdam. Those who are part of the team claim they got more than they bargained for. Do you have what it takes to join?
