Systems Engineer Standards

Job description

WHAT WILL YOU DO

Hyperloop is the new mode of transportation for large volumes of passengers and cargo. The hyperloop network connects cities, countries, and even continents in short periods of time. Tubes with a low-pressure environment offer ideal conditions for low-energy travel and protect the vehicles from external influences. Just like a highway, vehicles join and exit the high-speed network at any point along the route and are seamlessly connected with other modalities.

Systems engineering plays a key-role in the development of the hyperloop standards for passengers and cargo. In the role of Systems Engineer, you will drive and implement Hardt’s vision in national and European standardization activities. You will shape the standardization of hyperloop systems by giving input from a systems engineering perspective, with a focus on defining key information for the standards. In this role you will provide and coordinate technical system development input into the hyperloop standards. You will collect information within Hardt’s team and act as the technical representative to join the discussions and advocate our system view and ensure that the best solutions are becoming standard.

In addition to these activities, you will actively participate in systems engineering-related activities/documents such as breakdown structures, requirements management, interface management, technical performance measures and risk management. You will need to actively look after the system as a whole and make it your sole purpose to ensure that the standards are developed in line with the system vision.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

As Systems Engineer your responsibilities include:

    • Contribute to the system design and standardization of the hyperloop system and its subsystems;

    • Actively participate in the systems engineering activities , such as breakdown structures, requirements management, interface management, technical performance measures and risk management;
    • Translate the needs, requirements and designs from the Hardt product development into high quality contributions to the European hyperloop standards development;
    • Prepare standardization contributions and detail review of the contributions from other companies/countries;
    • Proactively steer and influence the content of the hyperloop standards development in line with Hardt product development roadmap;
    • Anticipate on the requirements and trends, recognize new opportunities as well as risks arising from standardization development;
